We’re excited to announce that at our practice you can now use your phone to manage your Invisalign treatment-yes, Invisalign can be as easy as taking a selfie! Using Dental Monitoring, we can convert a patient’s (or parent’s) phone into a remote monitoring device that helps us straighten smiles… with an app!
How does Dental Monitoring work?
During a
complimentary consultation, an Invisalign treatment plan will be
developed to map out a pathway toward the smile you’ve always wanted for
your child– or for yourself. Next, it’s time to go digital! Dental
Monitoring is an orthodontic treatment app you can download to your
smartphone. Once you’ve downloaded the app, we will set you up for a
“Virtual Appointment” Schedule – you’ll get a notification from us on
your personalized app which will walk you through taking a series of
13-15 pictures of your current smile. DM’s software automatically
enhances and sequences those pics so that Dr. Azar-Mehr can track your
teen’s treatment progress. Check out this video to see how it works in more detail.
At the moment, we are only able to offer Dental Monitoring to those patients receiving Invisalign treatment.
What are the benefits of Dental Monitoring?
- Fewer appointments with remote monitoring – Dental Monitoring allows us to monitor your progress remotely, which means fewer physical appointments. Our app will send you reminders on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to take pictures – a virtual appointment.
- Enhanced and accurate treatment – Since we’re getting more frequent data about your progress with the pictures you send us, we can make adjustments faster than we could if we didn’t see you for a whole month.
- Faster treatment time- all those pictures allow us to detect issues faster and see your mouth more frequently. That means our in-person appointments (yes, we still do those, just less often), are so much more efficient. Efficiency = faster treatment times!
- Constant communication – Virtual appointments ensure you’re in close contact with us at all times should you ever need to ask us anything about your treatment and progress.
